Art

I collected up some links to all the artists I've been looking at lately that I think are worth sharing. Some of you may already be aware of them (Alycia), some of you probably won't.

Elizabeth Layton: Cute old lady extraordinaire

Camille Rose Garcia:Probably getting something of hers tattooed on my body.

Luke Brown: Psychedellic Tool art.

Jenny Saville: Saw her stuff at the Saatchi gallery.

that Elizibeth Layton stuff was fantastic. Cute, but also sort of grotesque. Camille Rose Garcia's work was interesting. A bit cartoonish for my liking, but very cool. I really liked Jenny Seville too. Neat finds.

I'm really glad you did because I like her stuff alot. I agree with Naomi that it's definitely grotesque in some ways, but also sort of adorable.

Jenny Saville is disgusting and beautiful at the same time.

Cammille Rose Garcia is kind of cartoonish, but I still like her.

I should have linked some Edward Gorey.

I love Camille Rose Garcia... twisted cartoonish things entice me somehow. And I didn't know that Luke Brown was from BC, that's pretty sweet.

You'd have loved this one artist's exhibit from some out-of-the-way gallery, it was very abstract... she actually used different kinds of lace and painted over them so that the design was left as a backdrop for these really fluid and random brushstrokes. Thanks for the links... I'll check them out.
